I have been working professionally with technology since 1997. I moved to Alaska in the fall of 2008, for a change of scenery, and to give my wife a chance to work with sled dogs. You can read more about it on my blog, Instantaneous Instances.
Professional Experience
Indiana University School of Journalism, Senior Systems Administrator, 2004-2008
Responsiblities included: Setup and management of 200 Macintosh computers (classrooms, labs, personal workstations), 20 Windows computers, and 6 XServes; network management; evaluate, install, and manage classroom technology (projectors, A/V equipment, control devices); teaching the faculty, staff, and students how to use technology, provide technical support to over 40 faculty and instructors
Indiana University Information Technology Services, Senior Systems Administrator, 2000-2003
Responsiblities included: Setup and management of 600 Macintosh classroom computers and 10 Mac OS X Servers; working with faculty to deploy, test, and approve classroom software
Indiana University Information Technology Services, Macintosh Extended Consultant, 1999-2000
Responsiblities included: Working with faculty, staff, and students to solve problems with their Macintosh computers; managing office network of 6 Macs and 4 Windows machines
